A TALE OF TWO SIBLINGS

Let’s envision a happy plant family called “Cannabis Sativa”

Now we will take a closer look inside our happy plant family where we will find two fraternal twins. The first twin is called “Hemp” and the second is called “Cannabis”. Like all fraternal twins our plant twins are very similar but not identical in their “DNA”. While our plant siblings have many components that are similar and many that are different, for the purposes of this story we will focus on two aspects of their makeup… THC and CBD.

THC is a psychoactive cannabinoid. Fancy right?! Basically THC is considered the component that is responsible for the “high” feeling most people associate with the term cannabis.

CBD on the other hand doesn’t produce that “high” feeling. It is instead known for all of its potential wellness benefits.

Now that we understand what each of these important components are all about, let's dig into the makeup of our twins. Our first sibling “Hemp” contains a large amount of CBD and very very low amounts of THC. Then you have our second sibling “Cannabis” that is the opposite and contains a large amount of THC and very very low amounts of CBD.

Where that all becomes important is that when the 2018 Farm Bill was signed into law it was made legal for products containing CBD that is derived from “Hemp” to be sold across the country. The law also goes one step further and stipulates that not only does the CBD have to come from “Hemp” it CAN NOT contain more than .3% of THC. If a product were to have more than .3% THC or is not derived from a “Hemp” plant then that product would be considered illegal under Federal law. With that being said this Federal law is the minimum and various states may have their own, let's say…more flexible, regulations.

But wait…. you may be thinking that .3% seems like such a random number right? How does anyone know if the product they are interested in only has .3% or less THC? That’s an easy answer really. A company selling a CBD product should be able to provide 3rd party independent laboratory testing. This type of testing ensures that what is being sold is genuinely what is being purchased.

That's a YES!! We believe that all CBD products should undergo full third party independent testing. This testing ensures that our products are fully compliant with all legal requirements. It also ensures that what you are buying is exactly what you are getting. Each of our products has a QR code printed directly on the label. This allows our customers to view their products' certificate of analysis at any time. When you buy your CBD product from us we want you to feel confident in the quality and purity of your purchase.
